EP01-1 How to install software for browsing the Internet, extracting zipped / compressed file and running virus check.

There are different softwares that you can use for browsing the internet, first, you  have to pick one depending on what you want. Just take a look at some reviews to see what is the one that is more adequate for your computer and your use. If you use Mac or Windows you have to pick different software.

One you have decided, just go to the webpage of the software, for example, http://www.google.com/chrome/
Click on the download button, choose the version that you want to download depending on the requirements of the software and your computer. If you are using Mac, you will be downloading a .dmg file, when downloaded click on it and drag the file into your applications folder. If you are on windows, you will be downloading an .exe file, click on the file and follow the steps by agreeing and choosing everything and clicking on next till you finish.

To download software for extracting/compressing files you have different alternatives as well. You can choose for example winrar if you are using windows. Go to http://www.win-rar.com/  and click on the download button, depending on your computer you will have to download the version for 32 bits or 64 bits ( you can find out on the properties of your PC). As always, depending on Mac or Windows you will have to choose different software. You will download .exe file for windows and .dmg file for mac. Follow the same procedure as the one mentioned above to install.

To download anti-virus software you have to choose the best option first, depending on your needs. There is a lot of anti-virus software to download and some of them are free. For example, you can go to https://www.avast.com/  and click on the download button and follow the same steps to install the software depending on your operating system.
